I have just finished copying this particular blog and emailing it to T-Netix's customer support email. Here is their email address for all those who would like to facilitate the process of getting the phone lines fixed at the prison: customersupport@T-NETIX.com. Perhaps if they receive enough emails supporting Jon, then we might see some results. One of the most important aspects of business is reputation and image. At the end of the day, T-Netix is a business.

    Hi Jon,
I’ve been reading your blog for a while now. Since way back when you were at chez Arpaio, anyway. Hmmm. I really like to watch “OZ” too, which is a TV show we get here on SBS. Its from HBO and alll about life in a US prison. Check it out when you get out. It “makes real” a lot of what you write about. I wonder if you are familiar with the plight of Shapelle Corby? Poor cow. Either she did and I still feel sorry for her or she didn’t, and I hate the world.
Take care. Its hard not to like a person when you read what seems like everything they think and go through for months and months….

This telephone scam serves to highlight an obvious truth. That 99.99% of the public have no interest in the well-being of prison and jail inmates. The very fact that T-Netix can get away with what is obviously theft from some of the poorest and most vunerable sections of society, without any interference from regulators, is clear evidence that nobody cares, or at least cares enough to do anything about it.
O.K. so inmates have been convicted of crimes and need to be punished, does that mean that once they are sentenced and receiving their punishment i.e. loss of liberty, that we can now plunder what little they have? It is ‘we’ because the solution is in our hands, it is only when ‘ordinary’ people decide to do extraordinary things such as protest and lobby against unjust and reprehensible behaviour, that anything changes.
So as long as we remain quiet, the likes of Arpaio, T-Netix and other unscrupulous ‘providers’ of inmate necessities will continue to line their own pockets, and Jon and Long Island and many others remain without their lifelines to their families.
When a prisoner is sentenced, all the family members do the time.

I have now received two failure to deliver responses for the email address T-Netix provides for their customer support via their website. I am not surprised. Frustrated, but I will try again on a different email address when I arrive home in the states. Keep you all posted :)

    Hi Jon,
Justed emailed T-Netix's support line, and hope it really hacks them off.

I have one question, are there any options to transfer to a UK prison, where at least you'd be close to home, what ever about conditions...

    Keep it up..

    Ron.. (Ireland.)
