I love the new Party Time cover! I don't like the subtitle at the bottom, but that
is going to be changed. What do you think? Also, please give Party Time a

Extraordinary confessions, hellacious consequences
ReplyDeleteBecky
The dreadful - 'extraordinary confessions of a drug dealer' is truly beyond appalling. I had a look on Amazon and looked at all the description of Party Time. In 'product description' is that the bit which will be on the back cover of the book - the blurb that tells you what the book is all about?? If so I think it needs to tell the reader that the story ends in disaster - and it should be linked to Hard Time. It is human nature than not many people will want to read about a drug dealer having a lovely, hedonistic, indulgent, party lifestyle. To attract readers I think it is crucial that the prospective reader knows the 'walls come crashing down'. If I am teaching you to suck eggs tell me to bugger off, but it would be sooooooooooo annoying if Party Time wasn't 'spot on ' after the 10 years you've put into the production of it.
ReplyDeleteC
I agree about "drug dealer". Whoever put that on the cover should be fired. It's about as appealing to book buyers as the word "paedophile".
ReplyDeleteLove it!! Except the pills. Maybe its the amount of pills.
ReplyDeleteStephanie
Soooooooo much better than the first one :) LOVE it hun
ReplyDeleteEmma xxxx
Nice! Perfect....
ReplyDeleteBlue Lady
Really great Shaun but yeah, the line at the bottom is a bit harsh! Well done :)
ReplyDeleteCallie
That is soooooo much better than the last one i agree on the subtitle issue as well that book will be amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteJay
The book cover looks awesome! Change the subtitle for sure though!
ReplyDeleteJoseph
Out of his head: Out of Control: Into the realm of Insanity.
ReplyDeleteJoseph
Looking forward to it, I agree with the comments re the 'sensationalist' sub-title
ReplyDeleteBucko
100x better than the previous, I can't wait to crack this one open, and not just cause my name is going to be immortalized in the written word but cause it's going to be a much more pleasant journey down memory lane compared to the shockingly real life struggle you endured ,Although witty and humorous at times, from the last book. Congrats BM much respect prophet
ReplyDeleteThe Prophet
Love the book cover but agree the subtitle def has to go it's the first thing that catches your eye doesn't look good, especially to people who haven't read the 1st book, on the other hand though would get you in the news pretty quick, from people that think your glorifying it, like the ones that promoted the fifty shades accidentally if they hadn't have moaned about it people wouldn't have been that bothered about it :-) Maybe should have a ref to the 1st book on the front?
ReplyDeleteSarah
I agree Sarah Hughes. It would be better if it said, "The prequel to Hard Time" somewhere
ReplyDeletea lot better than the other version......striking...will stand out on the shelf too....
ReplyDeleteKaren
Love it. Very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteLorna
Very striking and the colours are ace! I reckon 'Out of his depth, out of his mind, out of control' might have read better, as 'control' has two syllables - but that's just nitpicking. :)
ReplyDeleteGemma xx
No, the saying at the end isn't right. YOu need to put something about a Brit in an American prison system...... that's a good hook.
ReplyDeletePatty
i agree, Gemma, i'm a syllable disciplinarian :) xx
ReplyDeletemuch better
ReplyDeleteTerry x
Brilliant striking cover but the subtitle has to go.... An indication of what is to come would be far better
ReplyDeleteJill x
By subtitle do you mean the white or the pink bit? The white bit would read better with both the 'his' sentences in the top line, and 'out of control' underneath. Looking forward to seeing what happens when this comes out - Hard Time was excellent!
ReplyDeleteGill
Looks great, much better than the previous one. Can't wait to read it :-)
ReplyDeleteArron
Shaun, use that pic.. Make Me & Joey... INFAMOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteStony
Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNancy
For the subtitle, what about something like you often say when I've heard you speak about accepting the consequences.
ReplyDeleteMaybe "Why I went to Arizona jail" or
"Why I had to do Hard Time".
Gerald.
In fairness, I can see the reasoning behind giving some sort of subtitle, as the title itself is not self-explanatory. I don't understand why they haven't used "Out of control. Out of his mind. Out of his depth" or "The true story of one man's mission to bring the English rave scene to the Arizona desert." The way your publisher is handling this does seem very at odds with what you're aiming to achieve.
ReplyDeleteWhat are they thinking of?? That subtitle totally misses the point as to what you are all about and would render sales to almost zero.
ReplyDeleteRachel
Love the cover, ditch the bottom tag-the one in white says it.
