Link to the Sky News Interview

Last night, I was interviewed by Martin Stanford on Sky News. Going live to millions of viewers for the first time was nerve-racking. I was amped-up all night.

Due to a commercial break, I was unable to finish responding to Martin’s final question about why I was continuing the blog, so here’s the remainder of my answer:

The blog was a lifeline for me and a lifeline I promised to keep going for my friends in prison. I intend to do my utmost to keep that lifeline open and to keep their voices being heard on the Internet. Thank you for this opportunity to bring the plight of my friends in prison to a much wider audience.

Here’s the link to the video of the interview:

You looked good, you did good, and I hope this short interview opens up additional exposure to your blog, In a nice way. I also read your blog last night, and found it interesting that this issue of censorship has all ready been discussed, and ruled on in the Federal courts, but still continues today.
May you continue to fight, and continue to dream. Good Luck. Mr.D.

I tuned in last night and watched, I imagine you were very nervous about the whole thing. The only issue I had was that the presenter rushed everyone, not just you but all the guests. I know he has to for a quick turnaround but he's harsh! Top publicity for the blog though with your address sat there for the full interview. You still managed to get your points across though and I thought it was very positive. Great exposure, most impressive.

    Nice suit! ha ha

It was really good!! You should be proud. It's a shame they ran out of time but you got your points in and a few zingers about Arpaio. And most importantly, your name and blog web address were on the screen the entire time!! Well done.

It was a good interview despite him being rushy with you. I could tell you were nervous as hell.

Its a good big step to bigger and longer TV interviews!

    Good job Shaun. =)

  6. Well if the information didn't catch viewers attention, that tie certainly did. I had to be interviewed for a DVD presentation to be shown to our prison ministry supporters, and as calm as you think you will be, and as much as you think you know what you're talking about, having to face a camera is still so nerve-wracking. Good job under tight constraints of time and a huge audience! I do hope this generates more attention.

    Hello Shaun,

I just listen to the interview link/youtube. It was short and you may think you did not say much, but the essential was said just in the title 'Should prisoners be banned from blogging...' It is I think enough to open curiosity to people who want to know more. It might draw them to read your blog and the cause.

It is a real opportunity you were able to do this.

It was nice to see your image with your voice at the same time.

I think you should have had more time to speak. Too bad they cut you off. That was rude imo. I wish they'd bust Sheriff Joe for something and he had to do time under the same conditions that he subjects others to...keep up the great work Shaun. Take care.

  18. They use to send my dads letters back all the time, because I use to secertly send his friends in other prisons letters. It is sad that the only thing that brings any joy to people in prison is always taken away. When you meet someome that you survived hell with and want to stay in contact with that person and we can only imagine what people have to go through just to get heard...
I'm making sure I get heard about my fathers story.I hope to be on tv soon, I might get a chacne to move to L.A.I work for a writer now.She said, she believes that my dad made sure we crossed each others path somehow. All you have done is make good at of a bad and I hope you can still keep your book going.
