If you were looking to come to Australia your best bet would probably be under a Temporary Work (Short Stay Activity) visa (subclass 400)

It does have a character requirement. Typically you would not be able to get entry if you had a term of inmprsionment of 12 months or more.

There is some discretion for the Minister to waive this. They will take into account the time since your crime, the fact you have not reoffended, your community work and if you were coming out here to speak to schools on drugs would all be taken into account.
