From T-Bone (Letter 28)

T-Bone is a massively-built spiritual ex-Marine, who uses fighting skills to stop prison rape. T-Bone’s latest letter:

The shower rapist that I smashed sent a guy into the pod to deal with me. The guy came to me and said that I shouldn’t have interfered. I told him to think about the act itself and to ask himself whether he would want someone to do it to him.

In front of the security cameras, he said no and tried to kick me in the balls. I blocked it by turning my hip to the right. He tried to hit me with a wild right-hand. I just leaned back. He missed.

I walked away and people told him he had better go take care of the issue he had with me. He came into my cell, running with his head down. I put my right forearm under his chin and grabbed my left arm with my right hand. I turned him to my left and sat him on the toilet. I put him to sleep in about 15 to 25 seconds.

At that time, I was really feeling it, so I went out into the pod and said, “I want my store back and I’ll forget who stole it.”
Nobody said a word.

A guy came up to my door before we were locked down and said to me that I shouldn’t think so good about people.

The guy I put to sleep rolled up that evening, but now I still need to get my stuff back. I also need to go to the doctor as I was kicked pretty good. I’m going to try and do a lot more talking than fighting. These youngsters are pretty damn strong. They just don’t know too much. It’s just one day at a time in here. I put my trust in Jesus Christ. I know everything is going to be all right.

I now have two books featuring T-Bone, the hard-hitting Prison Time and a self-help book, Lessons from a Drug Lord

Hi T-Bone,
It's unfortunate that there's so much violence in prison. However, I am still glad that you won. I am always glad when the person who is in the right wins. It's true what you're saying about these young guys often not knowing any better. Hopefully, one day, this young guy that you fought will realize that you were right, and he was wrong. But remember, just because they might not know any better, doesn't mean that they aren't dangerous, so keep your guard up. God sees everything that happens in this world. And, yes, God even sees what takes place inside of prisons. God sees you when you defend inmates who can't defend themselves, T-Bone. So try not to worry if other inmates don't understand why you do what you do. Because God sees you, and I'm sure that God couldn't be more proud of you. There are not as many real heroes in the world as people would like to believe. But you are definitely a true hero. It's good that you are still working on trying to get your food store back. But remember, if you never get the food items back or never find out who stole them, please don't let that make you paranoid or bitter. That will only destroy your sense of judgment. Once again, it was a cheap shot, stealing from your cell when you weren't there. Always think of it as a cheap shot. I will leave you with this quote: "Any man more right than his neighbors constitutes a majority of one." - Henry David Thoreau May God continue to bless you, T-Bone.
