Documentary & Interviews

Your comments and outpouring of affection continue to overwhelm me. Thanks everyone!
There’s been no quiet time for me so far (not that I deserve any) as yesterday filming began for a documentary about my adjustment from prison back to UK society and today I was lucky enough to do two radio interviews for the BBC. Here’s a link to one of the interviews:

iPM with Eddie Mair

The interview is being aired on Radio 4.

Shaun,
Likewise, it was strange to hear your voice after following your blog for so many years.
Your parents demonstrated the English grit that helped get you through your ordeal.
Welcome home mate, I look forward to reading (and hearing!) more of your scribbles.

Good to hear your voice again, my friend. When I listened to you (and your parents) I thought to myself, how amazing that someone from across the ocean came to the be the voice of our invisible prison population. The interviewer asked how you may top this-the only way to do that is to go one with your life and do what you've planned. Because of you we know there are so many more stories out there to be told, and you have gained a great voice. And you will continue to be that, in your own modest English way ;-)!

Have been reading your blog and your mums and it's really heartwarming to know you're home and actually writing your own stuff now!

I've been reading your blog on and off for the last year but, in the months to your release, it's captivated me. I'm ploughing through old entries at the moment.

Anyway, just listened to your iPM interview and it sounded great. Your parents sound like amazing people and, for a man who's been through what you've been through, you sound incredibly down to earth.

So welcome back to Blighty! As you can see, it's still raining.

Congrats on your coming home and all our blessings and hope for a bright new future. Not many people get the blank slate that you have been handed for a 2nd chance to write anew. Looking forward to seeing your writing in print. You've been blessed with not only a new future that you can now direct but also in a loving warm strong family who have built a strong foundation for you to build upon. Welcome home!
