Maudsley has spent more than 40 years in solitary confinement. He spends his
days locked away in a special underground cell under Wakefield Prison and is
one of the country's longest-serving prisoners. Carrying out 'vigilante
justice' he killed three of his victims while in prison.

Dr Bob Johnson is a psychiatrist who worked closely with
Robert Maudsley at HM Prison Parkhurst on the Isle of Wight, where after
extensive interviews and counselling, Dr Johnson believed that he was making
progress and could be rehabilitated. Dr Johnson makes some fascinating
revelations about Maudsley – and how serial killers are a product of their
environments.
